Qatar Airways is trying to become the next Emirates: a high quality carrier with a low cost base owned by a Gulf state awash in oil cash. Their agressive expansion plans have been hit and hit fairly hard by the A380 delays, though it seems unlikely they will cancel their orders and go the Boeing route.
