Oops! Embarassment on all sides with a clearly premature statement from Boeing as to an order from Qatar Airways. There is conflicting data as to why it was rescinded: some sources say that Qatar is still in negotiations with both Boeing and Airbus for selecting a type, others that the 777 has won but that a key Qatar Airways executive is ill. Either way, you can be sure that consultants are being called in to find out what went wrong here...
